The invites are mailed! Most of them, anyway...

Aaaaand I keep neglecting my poor, poor blog. In addition to wedding madness, I'm trying to look for employment for both fall AND summer. My summer job fell out from under me due to the economy, and so I'm trying to put together a nanny share with about 4 elementary-age kids. On top of that, I'm searching for and applying for teaching jobs for fall... something that requires a larger array of cover letters than one would imagine, along with essays galore. It's an absolute time-suck!

So, since this IS a wedding blog, here's some wedding stuff. We finally got our gorgeous invites mailed out to the vast majority of our list! They turned out exactly the way we wanted them. As I mentioned, we printed the addresses on labels to save time. What a fiasco! I think we ended up using 150 to print 75 addresses because of printer problems, as well as our red ink being on it's last leg. A bunch of our addresses ended up being kind of purple, but it looked fine with the aqua printing and I REALLY DON'T CARE AT THIS POINT ANYWAY. Especially since I used the invitations as an excuse to ride down to Collage and buy my first rolls of japanese masking tape to add a little something to the backs of the envelope! This ended up being a really smart move, since the glue on the envelopes barely worked at all. The aqua stripes came in a two-pack with green stripes that I'll save for another occasion. It was a bit pricey, but there was enough on one roll to use about 6 inches on about 75 envelopes, and there's still some on it! (*Yes, I could've used $1 scotch tape, but whatever.)

We sat outside to work on our invites. Because we had to trim all the labels with a paper-cutter (GAH!), they were all individual. We had jobs to make sure everything got done. I'd pick up a label and read the names. T checked them off our list, wrote their number of seats on the RSVP, stamped the RSVP, and put it back in the envelope. I applied the address label and stamp, licked the envelope, and sealed it with tape. We finished all the invites we had addresses for in about two hours, and then we went inside and ate mac n' cheese from a box and caught up on Lost. Romantic!

Here are our invites. I wonder why people keep calling us and telling me they can't figure out what our URL is, or where it's taking place...

Again, we ordered our invitations from Lovely and Gracious on Etsy. You can order just a PDF if you wish, but they had all our stuff printed for us. (You can also check out their blog here!) The attention to detail was wonderful, as well as their flexibility. The images and fonts are clear, and the paper used is wonderfully textured!

I still haven't written about our epic Ikea trip or anything else I meant to write about, but T is off work now and the forecast says it's the last day of sun before a week of overcast and rain, so it's time to get out in it!
